Hanoi-based metal outfit Gargoyles in the Night Wasteland have quietly returned with a new standalone single, “Scepters of Fate,” released without prior announcement. Arriving in the wake of their self-titled debut album, the track feels less like a continuation and more like a stark afterimage, a deliberate, isolated statement.
Leaning into the band’s grim atmosphere and ritualistic weight, “Scepters of Fate” sharpens their sound into something more focused and confrontational. The track unfolds with a sense of inevitability, balancing oppressive riffing with a slow-burning sense of tension that suggests both decay and resolve.
