ChipPunks Return with “Growing Up” – A New Chapter of Heartfelt Pop Punk

Saigon’s ChipPunks return with Growing Up, a 5-track EP blending their signature pop punk energy with heartfelt stories of family and heartbreak. Loud, catchy, and more mature, it’s a fresh chapter for one of the scene’s most beloved bands.

After more than a year out of the spotlight, Saigon’s pop punk trio ChipPunks roar back into the scene this July with their latest EP, “Growing Up.” True to its title, the five-track release finds the band maturing both musically and emotionally while keeping their trademark energy intact.

On “Growing Up,” ChipPunks bring their signature catchy melodies and punk spirit to more personal themes, weaving in stories of family ties (Gia Đình) and bittersweet heartbreak (Sunny Day). It’s a record that bridges the carefree attitude of youth with the inevitable pangs of growing older.

ChipPunks — made up of Tài Sảng (vocals/guitar), A Phấy (drums), and A Nhành (vocals/bass) — have carved out a loyal following in Vietnam’s youth scene with their unpretentious, upbeat take on pop punk. Their earlier tracks showcased their knack for punchy hooks and sing-along choruses, and with “Growing Up,” they show they’ve still got plenty to say — and plenty to shout about.

Whether you’ve been with them from the start or you’re just discovering their sound, “Growing Up” is a welcome reminder that punk is still alive, kicking, and evolving in Saigon.
