Thetans Are All About the Vibes with their new album Worldwide Vibes, a genre-blending, culture-rich punk release rooted in Vietnam’s underground. In our exclusive interview, they share thoughts on identity, scene support, DIY spirit, and what’s next for one of Hanoi’s most exciting bands.

Thetans – Worldwide Vibes [2025] is a darker, more experimental follow-up to their debut. Blending punk energy with darkwave textures and raw dynamics, it’s a slower burn that still hits hard in its own offbeat, genre-defying way.

“Adapting” is a posthumous release from Anesthetic Youth—blending punk grit and alt-rock urgency into a raw reflection on aging, identity, and post-COVID isolation. Written during Vietnam’s lockdowns, it’s the first of several unreleased tracks still to come.

Rising from the ashes of Leukotomy, Imperatus channels chaos into precise brutality. Blending black, death, and thrash metal, the Hanoi-based band pushes sonic and thematic boundaries while fiercely championing independence, self-production, and resistance against conformity in Vietnam’s growing metal scene.

Pale, the genre-defying band rooted in Japan’s underground, is carving a unique niche for themselves with their emotionally charged post-black metal sound. In their first-ever interview in Vietnam, the band shares insights into their evolution, artistic drive, and plans for the future. From their love for Alcest and Deafheaven to their distinctive blend of noise, post-metal, and black metal, Pale exemplifies the power of persistence, genre fusion, and the universal spirit of the underground music scene.
