District 105 is a prominent beatdown hardcore/metalcore band hailing from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The band was formed in 2017 by guitarist Khanh Trần following the disbandment of his previous group, In Your Eyes. The initial lineup included the band’s vocalist Huỳnh Huy, and after a few iterations, D105 reached its current lineup with bassist Rich Peto, and drummer Quốc Anh. Over the years, District 105 has become a significant force in Vietnam’s underground music scene, known for its intense performances and heavy sound.

In 2018, District 105 released a split EP with German band, Shelldiver, marking their entry into the international hardcore scene. The following year, they unveiled their mini-album titled “9th”, which includes tracks like “The Man Who Laughs” and “The Red Death.” These releases showcased the band’s evolving sound and solidified their presence in the metalcore genre. In 2019, the band embarked on their first international tour, performing in Thailand, Taiwan, and Singapore, thereby expanding their reach beyond Vietnam.

Looking ahead, District 105 plans to continue its international performances following the release of the new EP titled “Chapter 1: The Lost Creator” in March 2025. Their music draws inspiration from bands like Stray from the Path, Kublai Khan, Knocked Loose, and Justice for the Damned, blending heavy breakdowns with elements of nu-metal to create a distinctive sound. As they evolve, District 105 remains committed to pushing the boundaries of the hardcore and metalcore genres, both within Vietnam and on the international stage.
