Shallow Vessels Set Sail with New Single “Odyssey”

Shallow Vessels return with “Odyssey,” a dynamic post-rock journey blending ambient synths, jazz grooves, and metal-infused crescendos. Out May 13th, the instrumental track sets the stage for their upcoming EP and a release party in Saigon this September.

Ho Chi Minh City-based post-rock trio Shallow Vessels are ready to take listeners on an emotional voyage with the release of their debut single, “Odyssey”.

True to its title, “Odyssey” is a sprawling instrumental piece that charts a journey through life’s peaks and valleys. The track opens with tranquil ambiance before building into a very focused boom of sound. A maelstrom of guitars, jazz-rooted basslines, atmospheric synth textures, and even a few intricate grooves, all converging into a triumphant resolution. The band’s seamless blend of genres delivers emotive storytelling without words.

According to the band, the song was born from two initially separate ideas that eventually revealed a shared emotional core, making “Odyssey” a testament to Shallow Vessels’ fluid and collaborative writing process. Shallow Vessels plan to finish their first EP and host a release party in Saigon this September.

Stay tuned for more updates as the band gears up to bring their immersive sound to stages across Southeast Asia later this year.
