Hanoi’s genre-bending outfit Thetans is back with Worldwide Vibes, their second EP and a bold evolution of their sound. Known for their intense live performances and a distinctive mix of raw punk aggression and synth-driven grooves, Thetans continue to push boundaries in Vietnam’s underground music scene.
Their debut EP introduced a sound that bridged the urgency of hardcore punk with the cold pulse of analog synthesizers. With Worldwide Vibes, the band leans deeper into that tension—building tracks that feel both mechanical and visceral, chaotic yet strangely danceable.
The EP, clocking in at just under 20 minutes, offers a sonic tour through dystopian cityscapes. Their commitment to the DIY ethos is still front and center—Worldwide Vibes was recorded on their own terms, mixed in a Hanoi bedroom, and self-released across digital platforms. The artwork, true to their aesthetic, is a raw collage of urban decay, pixelated bodies, and photocopied rebellion.
Worldwide Vibes is available now on Bandcamp and major streaming services. If you’re in Hanoi this coming weekend (19/04/25) be sure to catch their EP release party.
