irihi Takes A Luminous Step Toward Their Debut EP With “Covert”

Saigon’s irihi return with “Covert,” a luminous new single tracing the band’s quiet evolution from late-night demos to fully formed emotion. Equal parts hope and solitude, the track marks the final step before their long-awaited debut EP arrives in early 2026.

Saigon’s irihi 入日 close out their second year of quiet momentum with a new single, Covert,” a track that feels like a lantern held up inside the band’s evolving inner world. What began as late-night rehearsals and half-formed demos has steadily sharpened into something unmistakably theirs: honest, understated, and deeply melodic.

While their debut single “Waiting” lingered on longing and existential drift, Covert moves like the soundtrack to that search, a short film told through shimmering guitar lines, bittersweet tension, and airy bursts of hope. It balances playful lift with gentle solitude, tracing the quiet highs and low-lit dips each member has lived through on the road toward becoming a band.

For irihi 入日, these aren’t just songs but moments collected over years, but fragments of feeling assembled and reshaped until they finally clicked into place.

Covert” doubles as the preview to “EP. irihi,” their first official physical release arriving January 2026. The 5-track CD has been slowly, patiently built over the past three years by the band and drummer Bin, guided by the compositional hand of Nguyễn Xuân Lộc and supported by collaborators who understand their vision.

The new single acts as the doorway into that story. The emotions, growth, uncertainty, and soft breakthroughs of irihi 入日 formative years.
