District 105 Dropps A Second Strike of Their Upcoming “Chapter II”

District 105 unleash “I Dream Of (My Own Death),” the second single from CHAPTER II: THE HATED PROTECTOR, featuring US rapper Mikey Rotten. A dark, frantic blend of metallic hardcore and hip-hop, the track arrives with a gritty Saigon-shot video and drops just ahead of their full EP release.

Saigon metalic hardcore staples District 105 return with their second strike from “CHAPTER II: THE HATED PROTECTOR,” dropping later today (21/11). “I Dream Of (My Own Death)” drags the listener into one of the band’s darkest corners yet, a frantic collision of metallic hardcore and tense, hypnotic hip-hop energy amplified by a blistering guest verse from Mikey Rotten, the US rapper who recently toured Vietnam with them and whose presence feels seamlessly fused into the band’s world.

Continuing the sonic and narrative thread we explored in our early EP review earlier this week, the single reinforces how confidently District 105 have now settled into their own sound. It’s heavier, more deliberate, and emotionally sharper, the exact kind of evolution that makes this trilogy concept feel alive and urgent.

The music video mirrors that intensity, shaped through a fully collaborative effort from the band’s creative circle. Khanh Tran — who directed, shot, edited, and coloured the video – worked alongside co-director Huynh Huy, with additional camera work by Pchan, weaving a visual atmosphere that swings between suffocating tension and raw physicality. The artwork and visual identity were shaped by Huynh Huy and Chou Ho, grounding the release in District 105’s now-signature aesthetic grit. Behind the boards, longtime allies Sava Tomic and Ket handled production, sharpening every layer of chaos into a coherent blow. Shot across Sân bóng đá Mini Trúc Hoa Viên, Alehub Burger, and Bamcofi, the video taps straight into Saigon’s late-night pulse.
