Ho Chi Minh City’s KAALI blends blackened hardcore with atmospheric elements, drawing from Converge and Mastodon. Their EPs Alone and Echoes of Decay showcase their intense, immersive sound and evolving presence in Vietnam’s metal scene.

KAALI is a four-piece blackened hardcore metal band based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Formed during the 2020 pandemic, the band comprises members from diverse backgrounds, uniting to create a unique and aggressive sound. After several lineup changes, KAALI solidified their formation and began crafting their distinct musical identity.

In November 2021, KAALI released their debut EP titled “Alone,” featuring four tracks: “Alone“, “Child of War“, “Paper God“, and “Reborn.” Each track was accompanied by a music video, showcasing the band’s visual storytelling alongside their musical prowess. Throughout 2022, KAALI remained active in the local music scene, performing at various venues across Vietnam and building a dedicated following.

November 2022 marked the release of “Necromanteion,” the lead single from their forthcoming second EP, “Echoes of Decay.” This EP includes two additional tracks, each accompanied by music videos, further demonstrating the band’s commitment to delivering immersive audiovisual experiences.

KAALI’s music is heavily influenced by bands such as Converge, ISIS, KoRn, Baptists, Mastodon, Malevolence, Bossk, and Leprous. These influences contribute to their distinctive blend of aggressive riffs, atmospheric elements, and dynamic compositions, establishing them as a formidable presence in the metal scene.

As of now, KAALI continues to evolve their sound and expand their reach within the metal community, both locally and internationally. Fans eagerly anticipate their future projects and live performances, as the band remains committed to pushing the boundaries of their genre.
