Formed in 2018, Horn of Asgard is an international melodic death metal and Viking metal project that quickly rose to prominence as a fresh and powerful force in the genre’s new wave. Originally based in Russia, the band blends ferocity with melody, weaving Norse mythology and epic storytelling into their compositions.

Their breakthrough came early in their career, when they were handpicked by the legendary Children of Bodom from over 200 bands to support their Slavic tour in 2019, performing in high-energy shows in Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don. This recognition catapulted Horn of Asgard into the spotlight and helped them establish a growing and devoted international fanbase.

The band’s 2020 release, “The Return,” was accompanied by an official music video that went on to win multiple awards. It was named Best Melodic Death Metal Video of 2021 by Metalnation, and the band was hailed as Breakthrough of the Year by France the Planet — a major international metal community.

Horn of Asgard’s music has since gained wide airplay on global metal radio platforms such as Inner Demon Radio (USA), BurgStudio (South Africa), Scotland Rock Radio, and Rabid Dog Radio (France), where their tracks have consistently topped fan-voted charts.

Their anthemic single “Ragnarok” became the official theme of the Viking Festival “Vikings” in Poland, and the band was widely acclaimed following their fiery appearance at MadRock Fest Latvia in 2021.

In addition, they were finalists in Kryaken Metal Battle Russia 2020, and earned a spot on the main stage of the Bylinny Bereg folk festival in 2021, rising to the top of more than 200 applicants.

In 2022, part of Horn of Asgard’s lineup made the move from Russia to Vietnam, ushering in a new era of international collaboration and creative development. Now based in Nha Trang, the band has begun recording a new collection of tracks, with four songs already in progress.

This relocation has not only infused their sound with new cultural influences but also connected them with Southeast Asia’s growing metal scene — setting the stage for the next evolution of Horn of Asgard’s epic journey.

With more than 20 major festivals under their belt across Eastern and Western Europe, Horn of Asgard has earned a reputation for electrifying live performances and richly layered compositions. Their music fuses the might of Viking legends with the complexity of modern melodic death metal, delivering both aggression and grandeur.

Now in a new home and creative phase, Horn of Asgard continues to write the next chapter of their saga — one forged in fire, myth, and cross-continental collaboration. With new recordings underway and a history of high-profile performances behind them, the band stands poised to expand their legacy well beyond European borders.
