The band’s first single, “DEVOURER,” features CHƠN and lands as a statement of intent for one of the city’s newest Slamming Death Metal outfits. Formed in December 2025, H4VOK set out to bring a modern wave of Slam to Saigon’s underground scene, incorporating samples, rap features, and DJ collaborations into their sound, alongside unexpected “meme” elements during live sets.
On “DEVOURER,” that approach meets riffs built for maximum impact, pulling from acts like Angelmaker, Ingested, and PeelingFlesh, bands that treat low end and breakdowns as a weapon rather than a texture. The single was recorded, mixed, and mastered by vocalist Jackk Nguyễn through Stimpack Records, giving H4VOK full control over how their sound translates from the room to the recording.
H4VOK‘s current lineup includes Jackk Nguyễn on vocals, Minh Quân and Thiện Thuật on guitars, Thi Hoàng on bass, and Bảo Lâm on drums. Saigon’s Slam contingent just got its first representative! The single is available on all streaming platforms and the band’s official YouTube channel.
