happyco. is a Saigon-based hardcore punk band blending post-hardcore and alternative influences. Formed in 2018, they debuted with “V/S/ON” in 2024 and are working on their first EP.

Formed in 2018 during their university years, happyco. (also known as happycompany or Công ti vui vẻ) is a four-piece band from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, that blends hardcore punk, post-hardcore, and alternative music. The lineup consists of Thịnh (vocals/rhythm guitar), Thầy Tấn Đức (lead guitar), Tè Lê Duy (bass), and Trúc (drums). The band’s name reflects their uncertainty about future corporate careers, encapsulated in the moniker ‘happyco.’

In the initial years, happyco. focused on honing their musical skills and performing cover songs, which helped them develop a cohesive sound and stage presence. Their musical influences include bands like Snapcase, Fugazi, Turnstile, Title Fight, and The Pillows, which have shaped their unique style.

June 2024 marked a significant milestone with the release of their debut single, ‘V/S/ON’, a track that showcases their experimental approach to hardcore punk. The single received attention from platforms like Unite Asia, highlighting the band’s innovative fusion of genres. Accompanying the release, happyco. produced a mini-documentary providing insights into their creative process and the making of ‘V/S/ON’.

Building on this momentum, happyco. is currently working on their first EP, slated for release in 2025. This upcoming project aims to further explore and solidify their distinctive sound, reflecting their growth and evolution as artists. The band maintains an active presence on social media, engaging with fans and sharing updates on their musical journey.
